That’s pretty amazing the the film survived at all. I’m assuming that the white on the sides is the degradation of the film over time. I’d bet if somebody took enough time and effort it could be digitally restored — at least part of it.

I believe the oldest surviving WS footage is from 1910, but there is very little game action in that one. I found this one much more interesting mostly because of the historical nature of the ’19 series. I believe that the white is a result of film degredation and is not surprising given the film is 95 years old.
