Serving a Whole Fish

By Iron Chef Leftovers

This is the kind of reaction that Mrs. Iron Chef would have in this situation. I never understood why people get upset when their food comes from a whole animal. Does not realizing what you are eating had a head and tail and used to be moving make it better?

Anyway, from Pearls Before Swine, August 18.

  1. Though not raised on a farm, we always knew our food came from…was…animals. I actually wouldn’t have minded knowing which cuts came from which parts, and sectioning chickens was second nature by the time I was 12 years old.

However, I _do_ have a problem when parts show up unexpectedly, like the time I opened the paper sack of chicken innards and found the head. Creepifying.

I haven’t had the…experience…of chowing down on a boar’s head, either (as you have), so I don’t know how I’d react to that, first time out.
